All rides are open to all HoECC members and are listed on the Events List. The rides on different days tend to have different speeds and distances, please read the details below before selecting which suits you best.

Rides are broadly described as follows:
Wednesdays – 3 rides
‘Wednesday Ride’– 10:00 depart every week – approximate distances are – Summer 50 – 60 miles, Winter 40 – 50 miles (with lunch at 12:15-12:30) – the distance from the start to lunch is usually between 25 and 30 miles – average speed 12 – 13.5mph. Unless the weather is very bad we stop for a short “roadside 11s” break of about 10 minutes (bad weather stops may be at cafes but these are the exception as the time for serving a large group can escalate and impact on riding time). Approximately every 7 weeks the Wednesday ride is in two parts (Loop rides) in the morning and afternoon – the objective being to offer a shorter ride for potential new riders and the option for riders to ride in the morning or the afternoon, or both. There are also occasional “car assist” rides in the Summer months where we drive to, and start from another meet point in order to extend the area where we ride.
‘Further & Faster‘ – 09:30 depart every week – a ride which is just that – further and faster than the Wednesday rides with distances 70-90 miles with an average speed of 13 – 15mph. The rides have a very brief roadside 11s stop and pub lunch.
‘Cafe Ride‘ – 10:00 depart once a month – a more gentle ride of around 25 miles with average speed of 11-12mph. The ride stops at a cafe for refreshments around half way and returns to the start by lunchtime.
Saturdays
Departing at 13:45 every week. Approximately 20 miles ride out for a 15:30 tea stop (where the ride usually terminates) – some riders make their own way home from the tea stop, while others often visit a pub on the way back to the Earlswood area, thus making a total ride distance of 30-35 miles – average speed 12-13.5 mph
Sundays – 2 Rides (Alternate weeks)
‘All day’ – Departing 09:30 (Summer) and 10:00 (Winter) 60-80 miles with a pub lunch – average speed 13 – 14 mph
‘Casual/Social’ – Departing at 10:00 approximately 25 miles with a cafe stop midway. A relaxed pace (10-12mph) and ideal for newcomers to the club and existing members who want a more gentle ride. Returning to Earlswood 13:00-13:30.
